Why Stitchworks™?

Stitchworks™ is an ethos of weaving together seemingly disparate parts, leveraging the strengths of each, to create a harmonious result with greater total benefit.

Where we stand.

Stitchworks™ holds three (3) key operational values, which guide our brand, product, and service experience:

  • Intentional sourcing: Safe and high quality materials from suppliers who lead with environmental protection, transparency, and/or community supporting efforts

  • Inclusive education: Information and learning supported by both peer-reviewed research and lived experience, including ancestral wisdom and cultural practice

  • Reciprocity in relationship:
    ~ Equitable partnerships that center mutual healing, dignity & joy
    ~ Ongoing awareness building and incorporation of socially and environmentally restorative and regenerative practices

How we practice.

  • Many of our ingredients are organic, from biodynamic ecosystems, and backed by fair trade & wages. *Full compliance on these measures is part of our north star.

  • We compost all waste from coffee batching and brewing, including plant material and filters. And we're on the lookout for a recycling partner to help convert our coffee & herb bags into new materials. Please reach out if you have any suggestions!

  • Our research and the sources supporting our understanding, definitions, approach to blends, and information in our materials are rooted in both:
  1. scientific research, conducted by entities such as the National Institutes of Health
  2. lived experience and ongoing practice of herbalists, including myself, community healing leaders, and wellness practitioners.

  • We strive to create and maintain an intentional women-, gender nonconforming-, POC-owned or led supply chain, that is geographically proximate where possible. This includes farmers/producers, roasters, makers, herbalists, operators, and other vendors and consultants.

  • We contribute a portion of proceeds as often as possible, goal is monthly!, toward local, grassroots, and community based groups for their leadership in food sovereignty, climate resilience, environmental justice, social change and services, health & wellness, and more.

  • We share our knowledge and resources with community groups and organizations through skills-based learning & creative workshops, as well as through consulting on herbal formulations, botanical beverages, home baking, and giving strategy. *We'd love to hear from you if your organization is interested in partnering up on any of the above.
